On this site we spoke about the safety procedures of the lottery in Israel.  Here are the details, for those who have forgotten:

The lottery balls are kept in a safe that only 3 people are allowed to open.  The balls are weighed before each draw to confirm there is no difference in their weight (this is because a heavier ball will drop to the bottom of the machine and pop out, affecting the results).  The weighing takes place in a special room with a fixed temperature without humidity and on a special surface.  If there are balls which are broken, the entire set will be replaced with a new set, which are also kept in the safe.

To ensure the lottery machine is in full working order, it is tried with another set of balls before the actual draw.  The balls are changed on a regular basis.  Members of the supervisory board are present at the draw, and then sign a lottery protocol to approve the winning numbers if the lottery.  The winning numbers are then sent to the Mifal Hapais computer and publicized to the media.

This is how the lottery works in Israel, and the public are participating in a draw that is protected from mistakes and fraud.  But, this does not seem to be the case in Serbia!  With the lottery, many elderly and jobless participants were looking forward to a nice change in their situation.  Whilst they were sitting watching their TV they watched this incredible spectacle.

If you inspect the video, you are able to see that the screen the number 21 appears, but in reality the number 27 was picked.  Immediately after this the number 27 appears on the screen and only then is the number 21 picked.  It seems the Graphic designer predicted the number even before it was drawn.  You can see that the conductor face is awkward and confused, all happening live.

 

The Serbian Lottery strongly denies any fraud, but the angry customers do not accept the argument.  Public outrage caused the lottery manager to step down from his position as investigations were opened.  All the companies’ computers were confiscated and all employees were investigated under warning…….

So did this happen or not? We’ll have to wait and see.
